For this installation I removed an old British Gas 330+ heat only boiler that had a split heat exchanger causing it to spill products of combustion and also took an old 200L Megaflo out that was showing signs of expansion failure, both issues were most probably due to poor maintenance procedures/system neglect. The underfloor wasn’t allowing the house to sit at a comfortable temperature despite the boiler being ran at 75°c and mixed down to 55°c at the manifolds.
The more I took the system apart the more I understood the underlying issues of why the system was failing, poor system water quality, crossed ufh loops, ineffective pumps, undersized pipework, restrictive fittings, faulty blending valves, uninsulated pipework runs, the list goes on.
I installed a Vaillant UK exclusive Green iQ 627 system boiler with a 200L heat pump cylinder (UniStor HP) utilising PDHW, Sensocomfort + VR92’s for main zone influence and hot water time scheduling, EPH Controls acutuators, 2 ports and CP4 thermostats for individual room control, all linked onto the Ember app for smart phone integration.
All circuits on weather compensation wired through the VR70 & VR71 wiring centers linked onto the SensoAPP with a VR921 gateway.
Removed all old Rehau manifolds, flushed and corrected some crossed loops then upgraded the manifolds to Polypipe stainless.
All insulated with Armaflex by Armacell.
